Memorial Day and Labor Day Adult Sailing Classes

Hi Everyone!  Spring is an optimal time for sailing, and, once again, several adults have expressed an interest in SYC sailing classes.  Last year, something new was tried.  To minimize the scheduling conflicts that plague most adults, sailing classes were offered over the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends…all one had to do was add a Friday to the long weekend to complete the session.  The response was very good, and group sessions quickly formed up.  These classes proved to be a lot of fun, the curriculum was completed in a timely manner, and the feedback from participants was very positive. 

This year, the Memorial Day Session will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., May 24th – 27th.  The Labor Day classes will be held August 30th - September 2nd. For those who are unfamiliar with the adult classes, these sailing lessons are definitely hands on.  All of our instructors are US Sailing certified, and most beginners find themselves sailing by Memorial Day.  For those sailors who have participated before, they can continue down their path toward small boat certification, if desired.  It is worth noting that, once a Club member becomes small boat certified, our program boats are available for their use, cost free.
